My billing date for Netflix is tomorrow so I just cancelled my subscription. I really didn't want to cancel it, but I really protest to them raising the rates from $10 a month to $16 a month without giving any more benefit! I also considered just canceling the streaming part of the service only just because that is pretty much the opposite of what they probably want their users to do. I also saw an announcement from Starz the other day that they will not be renewing their contract with Netflix when it expires early next year. That is going to be a significant drop in their movie selection as well unless they can work something out.
You might ask what I am going to do for watching movies now? Well, I think I am going to join the ranks of the red box users. I also have Amazon Prime so I am going to see what kind of selection they have on that service and I am sure there is a lot of overlap of content.
To Netflix, not that they'll ever see this post, I've been a customer off and mostly on for a long time now. It is just too bad that you felt the need to raise prices by 60% all at once! I might come back, but I doubt I will ever pay for your streaming service again. Other than a few TV shows, there really wasn't all that much that I cared to watch on the service. I will continue watching the Star Trek series on Amazon.
